About Me

Hi there!

I’m Nathan Gaskin, a web developer from Portsmouth, on the South Coast of England. This site showcases some of the work that I’m proud of.

I’ve been programming since I first found the BASIC interpreter on an old second hand PC I got when I was younger, which was fortunately the most recent language my school library had heard of! Since then I dabbled in Windows application development before realising that the web was the place for me.

My passion for web technology lies in its sheer availability to everyone with the minimum of fuss and hassle. If you build it, they will come. Nowadays my work focuses primarily within Rich Internet Application frameworks such as Adobe Flex. I do a fair bit of work with MVC frameworks as well, usually CakePHP or Zend Framework.

I graduated in 2009 from Portsmouth University with First Class Honours in Computer Science. I was also awarded the British Computer Society prize for best final year student across the department. I work for iRelish, creating a whole array of neat web applications and useful widgets and gizmos.
